Magic Breakfast
Where there are fairies, there is magic. All Crédit Agricole Serbia products for children are featuring Good Fairy Dobrila called Vila Dobrila, the mascot of the Bank.
That is how, thanks to Good Fairy Dobrila’s help, Magic Breakfast – a charity event for children with special needs - was born.
Only fairies can do that for children: unite employees to volunteer from two companies – Crédit Agricole and METRO Cash & Carry, ask NGO Food Bank to join them, invite both companies’ clients to donate or shop on a particular Saturday in a particular month and buy specially designed packages for Magic Breakfast.
This simple project driven by the desire of all participants to help children turned out to be one of the favourite community projects. Every time there are more new company and media friends united with the same desire to ease children’s stay at schools by donating food for their ‘Magic Breakfasts’.
Magic Breakfast in numbers
- We started with one METRO Centre in Zemun in 2010 and finished with 6 METRO Centres in 2011: Zemun, Krnjača, Vidikovac, Niš, Novi Sad and Subotica
- In 2010 there was 2.435 kg food collected and in 2011 in total 12.660 kg
- We started with 70 volunteers to engage in total 195 from both companies in 2011
- In 2010 we sold 300 food packages to the citizens of Belgrade and in 2011 we sold 1.646 in Belgrade, Nis, Novi Sad and Subotica
- In 2010 Crédit Agricole and METRO Cash &Carry did the charity event alone while in 2011 we had in total 18 company friends who together donated 4.390 kg of food for children with special needs
- In 2010 Crédit Agricole and METRO Cash & Carry donated together 5000 € while in 2011 they donated 13.000€
- Food Bank worked with us on distribution from day one and we could not have done it so successfully without their enthusiasm and dedication
